Alia Al Suwaidi is one of the volunteers in the "Ajaweed Dreama" initiative that seeks to integrate orphans through their participation in the experiences of entrepreneurs, development and community projects, as well as driving them into the investment environment in Qatar. The exhibition that supports women’s sport comes alongside its support for customs and traditions within the Ajaweed Dreama initiative launched by the General Center last year, with the aim of attracting community cooperation in the field of developing, qualifying and training orphans. “Ajaweed Dreama” is an initiative organized by the center to attract all those with skills, projects and innovations. Alia says: I was keen to design abayas (gowns) that allow all women to play sports, as it is a basic right and not restricted to only one gender. And I say that practicing sport does not necessarily mean giving up decency because I believe in a way that reaches the level of certainty that adherence to the basic principles of Islam does not contradict all the requirements of the era, and I wanted to prove this through my designs that will soon be presented in the local market. Alia Al Suwaidi continues by saying: Gulf women must be free, and this does not mean that they give up the costumes and traditions of society, or clash with their religious principles, all that is to activate the desire for innovation within us, because when we liberate our minds first we will find it easy to overcome any obstacle in life, and frankly I thought for years that my traditional costume hinders me from exercising until I review my thoughts and find that the first step to freedom is to move towards responsible freedom and take the initiative to demonstrate that conservative women can reserve her position in the modern era, because progress and modernity do not need a specific costume or a specific people. "We do not live in a Dark spot of history, and our freedom does not mean abandoning our values As for the question about the timing of launching the project, it has two answers. The first is that since my childhood I have had an overwhelming desire to enter the world of design and fashion. It is a shining world for me. Its global pioneers arouse my curiosity and ideas, and I always dreamed of proving to the world that Gulf culture and traditional attire are highly beautiful and requires great art and creativity, and I also had another goal - or if you will, another dream - which is to correct the prevailing perception in the West that we are only running in black We do not know the value of colors and art, I say that we are pioneers of art, and the history of Islamic art abounds in excellence and the milestones of progress and innovation. Creativity and art are two bridges of human communication, and a stand against reaction and threats to freedom, and this is what I try to implement and prove. As for the second answer, it was as follows: I am a twentieth girl, and the strongest issue currently raised between the girls of my generation revolves around the fierce struggle between decency and emancipation, the right of women to engage in all forms of sporting activities, and the impossibility of matching the traditional costume with sport and the new lifestyle and those discussions pushed me to prove the opposite, because, as I said, Islamic principles do not hinder progress at all, yes we have the right to practice all kinds of sports and we have the right to be free, but it is our duty to preserve our decency, and ourselves and this is my vision that I have tried to outline in my designs. Dreama and small projects .. What is the relationship? The Dreama Center works to empower and integrate orphans into society and qualify them to enter the battlefield of life. What does this have to do with a sports Abaya (gown) project? Alia Al Suwaidi says that her relationship with Dreama started when she wanted to give a development side to her emerging project, so she went to Dreama Center with the aim of enrolling orphans in this project in terms of professionally empowering them and sharing strategic planning experiences for investment projects, creating decent work opportunities for them, and involving them in the field of entrepreneurship Alia continues by saying: I presented the idea to the center as an idea that supports sport and women's rights, and revealed to them my intention to participate the children of Dreama the opportunity to work together in relation to marketing ideas and media campaigns, especially as I followed up on the films and promotional clips published by Dreama's children on their social networking sites, We agreed that the proceeds of the exhibition would be for the children of Dreama.
