Alia Al Suwaidi is one of the volunteers in the "Ajaweed Dreama" initiative that seeks to integrate orphans through their participation in the experiences of entrepreneurs, development and community projects, as well as driving them into the investment environment in Qatar. The exhibition that supports women’s sport comes alongside its support for customs and traditions within the Ajaweed Dreama initiative launched by the General Center last year, with the aim of attracting community cooperation in the field of developing, qualifying and training orphans. “Ajaweed Dreama” is an initiative organized by the center to attract all those with skills, projects and innovations. Alia Al Suwaidi organized her first fashion show on the stage of the Qatar National Theater on the evening of January 14 at 7 o'clock, in the presence of Amal bin Abdul Latif Al Mannai, CEO of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, and His Excellency the German Ambassador to the State of Qatar is forbidden, and the Ambassador of Bangladesh is forbidden. The Dreama Center operates according to a new strategy recently introduced as the first center in the region to adopt the concept of economic and professional empowerment of orphans and train them on investment concepts such as feasibility study, strategic planning and organizing economic projects It is worth noting that one of the main pillars of this strategy aims to move the business community humanely and push it towards development work, and to inflict the Center's people on its track. Qatar is ranked fourth globally in the ease of financing small and medium projects, according to the Global Competitiveness Report 2019 issued by the World Economic Forum (Davos). It is expected that the proceeds of Alia’s Exhibition for Sports Abayas (gown) will be provided entirely to the children of Dreama, and the designer Alia Al Suwaidi was keen to involve the girls of the center in the project in order to enable them from the reasons of their independent living after graduating from Dreama. In this context, Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, CEO of the Dreama Center, says that the primary goal of these initiatives is to support all targeted development work and raising the standard of living of the target groups we sponsor Besides stimulating the local market with new projects and ideas that attract the least privileged groups in society in order to achieve concepts of social justice and equal distribution of opportunities According to Al-Misnad, these initiatives are a result of the excellence of Qatari girls and women in the entrepreneurial and investment sector, which prompts us to rediscover the capabilities of girls and giving them the opportunity to express their thoughts and aspirations. There are many urgent details in this field that the place has no spare capacity to be discussed She added that the Alia Al Suwaidi project is one of the pioneering projects in the field of sports and investment, as it is a project that highlights the importance of preserving the Qatari and Islamic customs and not contradicting the requirements of modern life and the aspirations of women. And she extended her sincere thanks to the supporters of Alia Exhibition Represented by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Qatar National Theater, which hosted the fashion show, the Afra Al-Marri volunteer center in Ajaweed and the owner of the beauty salon for her contribution to the exhibition's fittings, and the Qatar Foundation for Social Work The Honorable Afra Hamad Al-Marri, a beautician and owner of the Afra Beauty Center and a volunteer in Ajaweed Dreama, thanked Dreama for the opportunity to present her contribution to Alia’s exhibition of sports Abayas (gowns) and the contribution to equipping the looks of models, makeup, accessories and others. I also had the pleasure of working with the Qatari designer Alia Al Suwaidi in her first exhibition for sports Abayas (gowns) and designs that keep pace with the age of acceleration and fit with the Qatari identity. I am proud of being from Ajaweed Dreama, and for continuing my contribution to Dreama and opening the doors of Afra Beauty Center to provide services to Dreama affiliates in addition to providing cosmetic, skin and hair care courses, and others. Project idea and challenges of globalization The issues of unconscious openness and globalization threaten with its cultural aspect, the basic pillars of society related to the concept of decency and ethics on the one hand, and the urgent desire to join global progress on the other side. The dialogue raised about the idea of the sports Abayas (gowns) project raised questions: What is the relationship of sport to the traditional dress of Gulf women? Can they be combined? And why the project comes at this time? Alia Al Suwaidi, the owner of the project, answers that the idea in a nutshell is an attempt to confirm that decency and traditional custom do not contradict freedom. Freedom from a higher point of view is freedom of the will, which is not hindered by any type of clothing. Alia says: I was keen to design abayas (gowns) that allow all women to play sports, as it is a basic right and not restricted to only one gender. And I say that practicing sport does not necessarily mean giving up decency because I believe in a way that reaches the level of certainty that adherence to the basic principles of Islam does not contradict all the requirements of the era, and I wanted to prove this through my designs that will soon be presented in the local market. Alia Al Suwaidi continues by saying: Gulf women must be free, and this does not mean that they give up the costumes and traditions of society, or clash with their religious principles, all that is to activate the desire for innovation within us, because when we liberate our minds first we will find it easy to overcome any obstacle in life, and frankly I thought for years that my traditional costume hinders me from exercising until I review my thoughts and find that the first step to freedom is to move towards responsible freedom and take the initiative to demonstrate that conservative women can reserve her position in the modern era, because progress and modernity do not need a specific costume or a specific people. "We do not live in a Dark spot of history, and our freedom does not mean abandoning our values As for the question about the timing of launching the project, it has two answers. The first is that since my childhood I have had an overwhelming desire to enter the world of design and fashion. It is a shining world for me. Its global pioneers arouse my curiosity and ideas, and I always dreamed of proving to the world that Gulf culture and traditional attire are highly beautiful and requires great art and creativity, and I also had another goal - or if you will, another dream - which is to correct the prevailing perception in the West that we are only running in black We do not know the value of colors and art, I say that we are pioneers of art, and the history of Islamic art abounds in excellence and the milestones of progress and innovation. Creativity and art are two bridges of human communication, and a stand against reaction and threats to freedom, and this is what I try to implement and prove. As for the second answer, it was as follows: I am a twentieth girl, and the strongest issue currently raised between the girls of my generation revolves around the fierce struggle between decency and emancipation, the right of women to engage in all forms of sporting activities, and the impossibility of matching the traditional costume with sport and the new lifestyle and those discussions pushed me to prove the opposite, because, as I said, Islamic principles do not hinder progress at all, yes we have the right to practice all kinds of sports and we have the right to be free, but it is our duty to preserve our decency, and ourselves and this is my vision that I have tried to outline in my designs. Dreama and small projects .. What is the relationship? The Dreama Center works to empower and integrate orphans into society and qualify them to enter the battlefield of life. What does this have to do with a sports Abaya (gown) project? Alia Al Suwaidi says that her relationship with Dreama started when she wanted to give a development side to her emerging project, so she went to Dreama Center with the aim of enrolling orphans in this project in terms of professionally empowering them and sharing strategic planning experiences for investment projects, creating decent work opportunities for them, and involving them in the field of entrepreneurship Alia continues by saying: I presented the idea to the center as an idea that supports sport and women's rights, and revealed to them my intention to participate the children of Dreama the opportunity to work together in relation to marketing ideas and media campaigns, especially as I followed up on the films and promotional clips published by Dreama's children on their social networking sites, We agreed that the proceeds of the exhibition would be for the children of Dreama. And on the choice of Alia for Dreama specifically, then she answers: The sense of loneliness is the most difficult thing a person may face, so how if it is a feeling facing a child, and for this I decided to prove to the children of Dreama that they are not alone, and I wanted my success to be a success for them Several entities and institutions in the country are cooperating with this pioneering project in the field of sports fashion and economic empowerment of orphans, including the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Qatar National Theater that will host the fashion show of Alia Al Suwaidi products, the Afra Al Mari Beauty Center and the Qatar Foundation for Social Work.
