Dreama Participates in Qatar Foundation for Social Work’s National Sport Day Activities
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, in collaboration with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work and its affiliated centers, organized a series of sporting activities in celebration of National Sport Day. The events took place at Al Noor Center for the Blind, with the participation of all centers operating under the foundation’s umbrella.
The activities included a variety of sports and movement-based games designed for all age groups and different community groups. The aim was to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity and its role in improving individuals’ and communities’ quality of life. Among the activities were interactive games and competitions that encouraged family participation and the inclusion of all target groups from the centers. Featured sports included floor billiards, foosball, table tennis, badminton, children’s basketball, volleyball, sticky ball target shooting, archery, mini golf, cone and ball racing, hoop racing, and several other activities. The diverse range of sports fostered engagement between different groups and members of the broader community.
The Ministry and the foundation continue to promote a culture of physical activity and wellness among their employees, members, and society as a whole. This initiative is a key step in strengthening family and social bonds while ensuring the integration of all center beneficiaries into the wider community. The event saw a large turnout from participants, reflecting an enthusiastic and dynamic atmosphere inspired by the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar. This aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, which prioritizes sports as a fundamental pillar in safeguarding citizens’ health and fostering intellectual, physical, and mental development, alongside establishing world-class sports infrastructure that enhances the country’s global standing.
In this context, Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al Thani, Executive Director of Dreama – Orphan Care Center, emphasized the significance of this occasion, stating:
“Sports play a vital role in developing our children’s physical and cognitive abilities. At Dreama, we are deeply committed to the health and well-being of our children. In line with this commitment, we celebrate National Sport Day annually in collaboration with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work and its centers.”
She added: “At Dreama, we believe that sports serve as an effective tool in shaping strong and healthy individuals. Through our children’s participation in sports activities, we aim to enhance their self-confidence, integrate them into society, and develop their skills.”
